ASSISTANCE FOR VETERANS IS LOOKING FOR PARTNERS TO HELP US WITH OUR MISSION
We could use non-perishable items, clothing, hygiene items and other goodies for our “Veterans Assistance Care Packages.” We are a 501 c3 non-profit organization dedicated to veteran causes. We accept vehicle, RV or boat donations running or not and you will get your tax-deductible receipt for your kind donation. Our mission is only successful with your help, the more we get the more we deliver. We measure our work by the tons of food and clothing delivered; our Chrysler Town & Country we used for many years has finally said no more and we hope to get a larger vehicle ASAP. DELIVERY FROM JULY 2020 ABOVE - NEED YOUR HELP

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED HOW MANY HOMELESS DIE ON OUR STREETS EVERY YEAR?
There are many reasons but the number of homeless that die each year because of the elements, like freezing to death, for example, are not available. Because we are out in the streets making our deliveries we notice many homeless encampments that are hidden and keep close ties to them. Just last month in my little neighborhood, one homeless man hung himself along the Los Angeles River. Another died at the 7-Eleven in Montebello. He lived in the parking lot of a larger commercial shopping center nearby. The saddest for me was seeing one person freezing while sitting at the 7-Eleven on one the coldest nights in recent memory. His hands were shivering and all I could do was give him some money to buy a coffee, but even sadder, he was an alcoholic and probably wouldn’t buy a cup of coffee at 6am. Even a sadder are the number of veterans who commit suicide every single day in America. How can we stop this cycle?
Today, we ask for your help in our mission of delivering food, clothing and guidance to our homeless veterans who are still on the streets no matter how hard City Hall tries to solve the homeless problem. First it was all about getting the homeless veterans off the streets of Los Angeles by the end of 2015. Then it changed to the end of 2016 and the problem is still there. We have our ear to the ground and last December at the Stand Down at the Los Angeles Convention Center many veterans had housing vouchers but they couldn’t find a place to live. There has to be Section 8 housing available. Now one year later the problem has gotten a little better but there are still too many homeless veterans living in their cars or some encampment. One problem, not everyone qualifies for HUD VASH, which is the program helping homeless veterans because many had a bad discharge or did not serve on active duty, which is a requirement for this program.
We are always looking for donations from anyone. We have containers we can bring to your business. We need tons of non-perishable items and we will drive to pick up clothes if you have some to donate. We hope to hear from you soon. Please call or email us and we will be happy to pick up those items. Our San Diego office is working hard as well.
